Making pyrolysis
visible, testable and
easier to develop.
Futurebright develops pyrolysis demonstrators, biochar concepts and practical technical definition for early-stage pyrolysis systems — grounded in experience from commercial-scale plant development.
01
current pyrolysis direction
From visible models to heated systems and future reactor concepts.
MicroPyro is designed to be an entry point into continuous pyrolysis systems. It is also the current entry point into Futurebright’s pyrolysis development work. It is designed to make continuous pyrolysis easier to see and understand by showing the core relationships directly: material movement, feed rate, residence time and throughput. From there, the next step is a heated pyrolysis demonstrator, followed by longer-term reactor development. The aim is to move from visible process understanding, into practical testing, and then towards more developed pyrolysis systems.
Current Focus
MicroPyro
A desktop-scale demonstrator of a continuous rotary kiln process. Built to make feed rate, residence time, material movement and throughput visible in a way full-scale systems cannot.
upcoming
Heated Pyrolysis Demonstrator
The next development step: moving from visible cold demonstration towards a small heated system for process learning, biochar outputs, testing and clearer technical communication.
longer term
Future reactor development
FutureBright is also carrying the lessons from commercial-scale plant development, MicroPyro and heated demonstrators towards a new reactor type and a more defined technical product pathway.
02
Commercial-scale experience
Plant development · Scale-up · Commissioning
Experience from early definition to facility development.
FutureBright is shaped by practical experience developing pyrolysis technology, including the development of a commercial-scale plant from early project definition through lab-scale testing, scale-up, supplier engagement, fabrication, commissioning and facility development.
04
how futurebright works with you
01
Pyrolysis Feasibility
A focused review of feedstock, process route, risks and next steps for an early-stage pyrolysis or biochar project.
02
Technical Project Definition
Clarify the system concept, operating assumptions, supplier questions, development path and commissioning requirements.
03
Demonstrator & Communication Support
Physical demonstrators, process diagrams, visual material and explanations that make complex pyrolysis systems easier to understand.
04
Define Your Pyrolysis Needs
Early-stage support to work out what you actually need, with someone who has been through commercial-scale pyrolysis development from the ground up.
05
why futurebright
A pyrolysis practice built around practical development.
FutureBright is the practice of Raymond McGreal, working across pyrolysis, biochar, demonstrator development and early-stage environmental technology.
The common thread is making complex technical projects clearer, more visible and more developed — so they can be tested, explained, funded, built or moved forward.
